SPB SECURES FSC® CERTIFICATE

SPB has received Forest Stewardship Council^® (FSC^®) certification, granted by Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) who is accredited by the FSC. FSC is an international certification and labeling system that guarantees that paper and wood products carrying the FSC label come from environmentally and socially responsible sources. The certificate provided by SCS (SCS-COC-003153) is applicable to SPB Erode mill site as well as SPB Tirunelveli mill site.

SPB is the first Indian Paper Company that has been certified under three standards of FSC viz., FSC-STD-40-005, FSC-STD-40-004 and FSC-STD-40-003. By this, SPB assures it's stakeholders that the wood, wood fibre and pulp purchased by SPB are traceable to responsibly managed forests and that adequate document controls are in place to ensure identification and traceability throughout the Chain of Custody.

This also means that SPB is capable of manufacturing and selling FSC 100% and FSC Mix products in the domestic and international markets. The already established image of SPB as an environment - conscious organisation gets a further boost by this certification. SPB would also be able to access highly environmentally sensitive markets and enhance its market competitiveness.
